It was the night before my own Reiki Second Degree Attunement and I was excited but stressed too.

At 2 am, I was still awake, tossing and turning and feeling a bit ill.

However, it was the emotional turmoil which really had me worried. I had so much anxiety. Thoughts running through my head, "No one likes you."

Relationships gone awry were running through my brain and wreaking havoc with my ability to remain calm.

I took a deep breath and began a Reiki self treatment. When I reached my heart chakra, I became aware of a deep pain. Tuning in, I realized there was a knife in my heart.

It was a metaphor for betrayal of self in an attempt to fit in. All the times I changed to please others. Denying my own wisdom and innate truth.

"Can I remove it?" I asked my higher self.

I felt 'yes.' It was a buzz of electricity. Reaching into my heart space, I released the knife and filled the area with white light. Shortly thereafter, I fell asleep.

My Reiki Workshop Experience

The next day, as I was sitting in the sacred container of light created by my chosen Reiki Master/Teacher, I was overwhelmed with love. Love from the Ascended Masters I related to and also love from what I perceived as my higher self.

I saw an image of me breaking the surface of a great body of water, an ocean of emotion, and saw the strength of my arms as I moved through the waves. I felt powerful and supported to do this 'deep dive.'

At one point, I felt a golden key enter my crown.

Afterwards, as we practiced our Reiki Second Degree tools, I knew so much more was about to unfold. As it turns out, I started giving distance sessions long before I gave in person Reiki sessions. I embraced the energy of distance Reiki like a duck to water. It is still my deep passion.

Although I did eventually give full in person sessions, it wasn't until after I was attuned to Reiki Master and I thought, "Well, if I am going to do this I had better experience it all!"

The golden key continues to unfold as do other symbolic messages that I have received over the years. I understand that it is a deep unfolding of the mystery and awe of a higher state of consciousness. My Reiki tools plus more have supported this deep unfolding in ways that are difficult to describe.

You really have to experience it.

One thing I learned that day is that we all have the key to unlock the mystery.

It lies deep within us.
